We are pet owners concerned about our pets just like you. We want to make it easy for anyone finding our lost pet to quickly get in touch with us so we can bring our pet home. Static tags can be out of date and microchips implanted in a pet only help when the pet is taken to a shelter or a veterinarian. The PCPetID lets the owner control all of the information. And, it provides a simple way for people finding a lost pet to get it home without turning it over to a shelter.
The idea for the PCPetID came about after watching the after effects of hurricane Katrina. Lives and homes were lost and thousands of pets were seperated from their owners. Many of the pets had static tags on their collars or implanted microchips containing the owner's address and phone number. But with the homes destroyed and the phone service wiped out there was no way for anyone finding a pet to get it home. Even as owners and pets became reunited through the untold hours of hard work by shelters and rescue organization thousands more, sadly, did not get reunited with their owners.
If your pet ever goes missing, any person finding her (including shelters, veterinarians and the police) can plug the PCPetID into any computer using Microsoft Word for Windows. The "Owner" form on the PCPetID can then be opened showing all of your contact information. The "Veterinarian" form can also be opened providing your preferred veterinarian in case your pet is injured and needs immediate medical attention.
The PCPetID allows you to enter and update ALL of the information that will get your pet home. And, the other forms loaded on the PCPetID give you one place to keep every bit of information about your pet helping keep her safe and healthy.
