1 - Annual Maintenance Programme for Uxbridge Golf Course

 

 

A.     Road Signage

All signage relating to the course needs to be assessed.

The road signs should be washed every March, June, Sept & Dec (this includes the finger signs, the and the entrance signs).

 

 

B.    Entrance

The entrance is in a very poor state and the potholes needs to be addressed immediately.

Should always be clean & well maintained.

A routine cleaning schedule will be put in place.

The barriers will be painted once a year.

The hedge will be clipped twice a year (May & October).

 

 

 

C.    Car Park

The car park needs to be cleaned immediately

A Litter pick should be carried out each morning on the Car park.

Remove all broken and scrap machinery from Car park.

Litter bins will be painted once a year.

Bins will be emptied once a day.

Shrubs and trees will be cut back once a year.

 

 

D.    Exterior of the Pro Shop

All windows and doors will be cleaned on a regular basis.

The blow down bay will be cleaned out on a regular basis grass clippings should be never let decompose or smell.

A routine cleaning schedule will be adopted grass clippings and litter are never a problem.

 

 

E.     Greens

All greens on the course will use a standard blue flag with the Mack Trading logo, a yellow pole with a red pitch mark repair flag.

They will be presented in the best possible condition, and will be free from weeds pests and disease.

Will maintain a dense uniform putting surface, where speed will not be the main objective.

Pin positions will be changed in line with usage varying from once a day at peak times to once a week during quite times.

We will control poa annua seed heads with a PGR (primo max).

 

 

 

We will apply a balanced nutrition programme throughout the year, not exceeding 250kg of N per hectare.

Verticutting will be carried out every 10-14 days throughout the growing season.

Mowing should always be carried out with sharp, properly adjusted cylinders Mow 6-7 times per week during the growing season and at least one cut per week during the winter period. Vary height of cut from 3.5-6.5mm depending on season and situation.

Aeration will take place minimum of twice a year winter-spring vertidraining and autumn coring.

A straight sand topdressing of 25 tons per hectare in March-April will be followed by 6 more light dressings of 10 tons per hectare throughout the growing season.

Irrigation should be used only when necessary.

 

 

F.     Surrounds & Collars

They must be kept free from weeds, pests and disease.

They should be kept to the same high standard as the greens.

Roping off entry and exit points is essential in wet weather, continual monitoring of these areas is essential to spread wear and compaction.

They will be mowed three times per week at an average height of 12-16mm.

 

 

G.    Tees

Tee markers must be maintained to a high quality and be replaced or repainted before March each year.

Tee markers should be moved on a regular cycle, to maintain a good grass sward.

Tee markers need to be legally placed and aligned with the direction of play.

Tee stones need to be neatly edged and painted twice a year (March & August).

They should be mowed 2 to 3 times per week in the direction of play at a height from 12-18mm depending on soil conditions.

A balanced NPK will be applied through a good slow release carrier.

Tees should be free from weeds pests and disease.

Tees will be over seeded and top dressed in spring.

Tees will be divot mixed regularly depending on par and season.

Tee banks and steps will be well maintained.

Tees will be free from worm casts

Winter tees needs fresh stones and cleaning

 

 

H.    Fairways

Fairways should be mowed two to three times per week depending on growth.

Height of cut will vary from 12-20mm.

Fairways will be sprayed with a suitable selective at least once a year.

Fairways will be free from weeds pests and disease.

Fairways will be free from worm casts.

 

 

 

I.        Bunkers

Bunkers need to be free from weeds and stones.

Rake frequently 2-3 times per week.

Keep edges sprayed/trimmed.

Repair washouts as they occur.

At least one bunker rake should be in every bunker.

 

 

 

J.      Rough & Semi-Rough

Maintained to a good standard throughout the year, do not let clippings build up.

Investigate areas that could be let back to natural habitat.

 

 

K.    Paths, Bridges, Shelters, Water & Trees

All of the course path will be sprayed for weeds before April with a long lasting week killer.

Repair potholes on paths over winter period.

Inspect trees once a year for any disease or dangerous branches.

Continue the process of raising the crowns of the trees that are in play over the winter.

 

 

L.     Course Furniture

A dustbin will be provided at each tee box.

A minimum of four seats / benches should be available.

Two ball washers.

All out of bounds states will be painted once a year (May).

 

 

M.    Golf Buggies

The buggies will be kept in good working order & be fully charged for the start of each day.

They will be presented to the golfer in a spotless condition this also applies to the trolleys.

They will never be used to carry out maintenance work on the golf course.

 

 

N.    Annual Development Projects

Upgrade the golf course to the best standards achievable by April 1st 2009 this will include;

Aerate and top-dress greens

Worm control

Weed control


 

2 - Uxbridge Golf Course Development Proposals

 

 

 

A.     Off Course (Entrance, Road Signage, Car Parks, Security, etc.)

§         Resurface, curb and line the car parking facility.

§         Erect a new road signs.

 

 

B.    On Course

§         Engage an architect to assess the needs of the Golf Course.

§         New fleet of grass cutting machinery

§         Upgrade Greens

§         Upgrade Tees

§         Upgrade bunkers

§         Upgrade irrigation system

§         All tee boxes need new signage.

§         The course has no directional signage and this needs to be addressed.

 

 

 

C.    Greens Keeping Facilities

§         Build an appropriate wash down facility and storage bays.
