Finding out your son is gay is the death of many hopes and dreams and can produce a spiraling effect in your life.  A black cloud of despair becomes a constant companion.  So often when you are going through life's challenges alone, your perspective is skewed.  Safe Place has brought focus to a very blurry situation.  The realization that others share your burden and know how you feel brings hope to a seemingly hopeless circumstance.  Having them commit to your child even though they know all about him, helps you see that it is how Christ asked us to live and love...without condition.  Safe Place has been just that...a safe place to share all the embarrassments, fears, hurts and hopes with those who love me and my child no matter what!

 WHAT HEALING PLACE MEANS TO ME

-         Finding a safe place to share my struggle with the lie of homosexuality was an answer to prayer.  I was immediately able to comfortably share my own personal experience without the threat of judgment or condemnation from the other group members.  Through the fellowship, support, and prayer we experience in our meetings, I have gained an even greater appreciation for the love God provides for us in the comfort of our brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ.  None of us are ever meant to attempt to shoulder our burdens alone, but the Lord in His great mercy, has given us each other as a source of godly encouragement and strength.
