Great Job Guys!
Club Station, W9VT
Tri-Town has a Club Station located in Hazel Crest, IL at "The Bunker". The bunker is an old underground water tank that was converted to ESDA use, the walls and ceiling are 18" of poured concrete! We have use of an 80ft Rohn 45 Tower and have equipment capability for 160m-70cm, including satellite! During Field Day weekend we use the Bunker to obtain a "3F" catagory as an Emergency Command Center!
Jerry, K9PMV is the Station Manager and is continually improving the station. See any club officer for information on access to the Station.

The Bunker Gets a "Lift!"
Here are some pictures Jerry took Sunday. The finished product! A Rohn 25 tower on a tilt over base with a winch to raise and lower the tower!
From Jerry K9PMV (The Prez)-
"Can't thank you all enough for the splendid engineering and work effort. We certainly have a solid base to work off of now."
Trivia Question! What's W200VT?

And The Answer Is:
Back in the late 1980’s the ARRL sponsored the "We the People" Worked all States Award. Special Ham Club Stations were allowed to file with the FCC a Special Club call sign substituting in "200" instead of the number (0-9) in their call sign so W9VT became W200VT. There was a special WAS award for those stations that made contact with 50 states worth of 200 stations. We also made WAS as W200VT so we received both awards. We did this back in 1988. QSL manager was Brian, WD9HSY
The Bunker has been the hub of many a Club Field Day, Illinois QSO Parties, Sprints, Sweeps, Rag Chewing, and many a Board Meeting. This Club Asset is one that we are very proud of. We have worked well with our Local Governments for may years now and provide a tangible service to our community and the citizens we serve.
Here are some of the awards and acheivements made out at the club station:
